The COVID-19 crisis has forced universities closures in 188 countries, heavily disrupting the learning process of more than 1.7 billion youth, and their families. During this time, distance-learning solutions are implemented to ensure education continuity, and much of the current debate focuses on how much students have learnt during universities closures. However, while this potential learning loss may only be temporary, other elements that happen in the absence of universities and classroom teaching and campus life, will have a long-term impact on students’ outcomes. In this episode I talk to Colum Cronin who is a international recruiter in DCU university; we dive into some amazing topics about to cope in this situation .So tune in and enjoy.

Colum Cronin. Senior International Officer, Dublin City University Currently the Senior International Officer at Dublin City University, Colum has been working in the Higher Education sector for over 15 years. With experience and expertise across student support, recruitment, international affairs, and programme development, Colum is passionate about elevating student voices and empowering cross cultural collaboration. Colum created Dublin in December, a programme to support and connect international students while campuses are closed for holiday periods. Taking inspiration from this project, similar models are subsequently being rolled out in a number of institutions around the world. He also developed and managed a Study Abroad programme which was voted the best in the world by StudyAbroad101.com.
